There is no such thing as a workplace where everyone thinks and feels the same way. A variety of perspectives and backgrounds enriches collaboration and brings new, creative ideas to the table. But diversity also brings with it different needs from people on the team. This course is about being aware of diversity in the workplace and the opportunities and challenges it brings.
This course is aimed at all members of the organization - regardless of their task or position. We will not focus on a specific characteristic of diversity - such as age or gender - but offer a holistic perspective that includes a broad range of characteristics. Participants will see themselves as part of a diverse team instead of contrasting between "us" and "them".Diversity within a company can bring many benefits such as new ideas and creative solutions. However, working in a diverse team can also bring multiple challenges. Understanding the rationale for diversity can help provide motivation and understanding to overcome these challenges and create an inclusive environment.
This introduction to D&I will support participants to appreciate the various forms of diversity in their workplace.They will also learn practical steps that every employee can take to overcome promote a diverse and inclusive culture in their organization.
